November 2008 Vol. 3 No. 11

RD411 Now Has Over 1000 Professional Resources. And They Are All Free!

Message from Nancy Collins, PhD, RD, LD/N

I thought I would share three nutrition-themed holiday gift ideas.  I love to find just the right gift for the right person!

If you don’t routinely back up your computer, you are at risk for losing your files. I have found the simplest back up system ever called the Clickfree Automatic Backup. You don’t need any computer knowledge because all you have to do is plug it into your USB port.  Then sit back and watch it make a copy of all your documents, photos, slide sets, and other important files.  RD411 users can get a 15% discount and free shipping until December 31, 2008 by entering coupon code cfr331.  Read my personal story about the fire in my office and you will see how I discovered this amazing product!

I came across a very interesting book while in Chicago last month.  It is entitled From Home Sister to Second Lieutenant by Patricia A.M. Hodges.  This book presents the evolution of military dietetics from 1916 through World War II.  It also parallels the development of the profession of dietetics nationally, as many of the early leaders in dietetics had been in the World War I effort, at home and abroad. Experiences of the dietitians in the two world wars are recounted from several sources and from the many dietitians who submitted narratives. Contact armydietitianbook@gmail.com or 704-243-0855 for ordering. You may also order from the publisher www.catawbapublishing.com.

Looking for a great 2009 calendar? The Nutrition Twins, Tammy and Lyssie, have teamed up with Day-Timer® to create a variety of nutrition and wellness themed planners to help people reach their goals in the coming year.  Click here to see all the great choices for both you and your clients.
