Enjoy Your Summer and Let RD411.com Lighten Your Workload!

Nancy Collins, PhD, RD, LD/N Describes How RD411.com Works

Visit www.RD411.com and you will find over 800 free resources covering a wide variety of nutrition and health topics. The materials are written and contributed by dietitians, nurses and other healthcare professionals. They are edited and peer reviewed and then posted to the site. Most materials are available in three formats: you may view it on the screen, download a printer friendly version, or download the content into your own word processing program. From there, you can modify it to fit your specific needs or clientele. In addition to patient handouts, facility policies, in-services, and topic refreshers, the site offers downloadable slide sets, podcasts, video, CE programs, chats, a salary comparison tool, and other useful items to advance the profession. There is no charge for anything but I do appreciate if you give RD411.com credit and help me promote the site.

So You Want to Be an Expert Witness: The Whys, Hows and Wherefores

Are you planning to attend the American Dietetic Association’s Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo (FNCE) in Chicago? Dr. Collins, along with ADA’s legal counsel Craig Busey, Dr. Ronni Chernoff, and Dr. Christine Gerbstadt, will be conducting a four hour expert witness training session on Saturday, October 25, 2008. Learn what expert witnesses do, why they're important, what skills are required, and how one might become an expert witness. You will also have a chance to role play to see what it's like to testify under pressure. Look for this pre-conference workshop on your official FNCE registration form. For more information visit www.eatright.org/fnce
